Typing Challenges

Built-in Challenges and Customizable Challenges

Section titled “Built-in Challenges and Customizable Challenges”

There are three built-in typing challenges with different levels of difficulty. In addition, you can customize up to 5 of your own challenges called ‘My Challenge’.

The typing challenges use ghost text which is text that need to reproduce with your key presses. If you type the ghost text correctly, the cursor advances as you see a stronger colored character to confirm that you typed the ghost character correctly. If you type the wrong character by mistake, that letter will be shown in red. You MUST delete the mistake and type the correct letter in order to continue the challenge.

The input source (language) matters in Typing Challenges

Section titled “The input source (language) matters in Typing Challenges”

Unlike lessons in which the key presses always produce Thai consonant, vowels and other marks, Typing Challenges take the training wheels off and let you type in Thai or English. You can either use the keyboard input mode picker in the upper right corner to change languages. Or, if you have configured the keyboard setting in the MacOS settings to use the Caps Lock button to switch between languages if needed. If the ghost text includes both Thai and English in the ghost text, you will need to switch languages while you are typing over the ghos text.
